I had a conversation with Karen in August of 2017 about my Dad who lived in Oregon. We didn’t move at the time but less than a year later we reconnected. Karen and I, along with my family, worked on the next steps for Dad to see how quickly we could get him to San Diego. She was with us every step of the way… even creating a text message group so my family would always know what was going on. From start to move-in Karen was available for us, touring with us and attending to anything to ensure Dad’s safe arrival, which he did in August 2018 and moved into his new Community. Karen was like a family member and we will be forever grateful for her care, expertise and guidance.

Twice we worked with Karen. The first time my Dad was looking for a Community that would provide assisted living and be close to our family’s home. Karen found us the perfect place. As time passed, Dad’s health changed and he needed more care because of a dementia diagnosis. That was a challenge since Dad was hospitalized and was not able to return to where he was living before the hospitalization. We had a short period of time to find a place since the hospital could not do anything further for him. The place Karen found was a great fit for him and our family. He loved the organic gardening! Dad died recently but knowing how well he was cared for gave us all peace of mind. Karen was a tremendous help and blessing to our family and we are grateful to her.

We are so grateful for your outstanding help with my mother. Without your compassionate understanding we would have been so burdened by guilt that a wise decision would have been impossible. Dana and I both felt wonderfully comfortable with you. You were with us through the entire process, guiding us step by step. You toured with us - some Communities multiple times, made appointments for us, introduced us to key staff members, and answered all of our many questions. This entire process would have been fraught with worry and doubt without you. We were very impressed with the depth and breadth of your knowledge and experience. You even helped us to ask the right questions. Your wisdom and experience made us think about things we would have overlooked. You encouraged us to faithfully do our due diligence. By the time we made our final selection, we were confident of our choice. Indeed, time proved how right that choice was. My mother loved the facility. Her many guests were impressed with the quality of St. Paul’s and the care my mother received. We were able to rest in the knowledge that my mother was in a wonderful place and receiving excellent care. You are a blessing to us.

My family contacted Karen Van Dyke when faced with the need to quickly find an assisted living facility for my mother upon receiving just 72 hours notice she was being discharged from skilled nursing. Karen was informative and reassuring and quickly got to work despite reaching her on a Saturday. With very little time to find the right place, Karen arranged multiple facility tours and helped us create a strategy so we could cover as much ground as possible. Thanks to Karen’s expert help, my mother was relocated and is now adjusting to her new circumstances. Her expertise was invaluable and we could never have covered as much ground as quickly without her. My mother was so pleased, she told Karen,”You’re officially adopted.”
