Types of Communities

I work with all Communities, those who pay me and those who don’t. I would never not recommend a Community due to remuneration or lack there of.

Independent Living Communities

Independent Living Communities are senior housing or senior communities whose residents are at least 55-60 years of age and older. These seniors are in good overall health, able to live on their own and the communities are set up to keep residents active and safe.

In-Home Care

In-Home Care is when an individual receives care in their own home, which can range from companionship and assistance with activities of daily living (ADLs) to those that specialize in more comprehensive medical care. There are many companies and individual caregivers providing these services. We have researched the best in each category within specific geographic areas, and our Senior Care Advisors will provide then needed referrals in this category.

Adult Day Care

Adult Day Care Centers are designed to provide care and companionship for seniors who need assistance or supervision during the day. These programs support family members or caregivers, allowing them to attend to their own daily activities knowing their relative is well cared for and safe.

Assisted Living and Dementia Care

Assisted Living can provide hundreds of options…even in a relatively small geographical area. Because there are so many “sub-categories,” Assisted Living is probably the most misunderstood of all the options in Senior Care. More and more seniors are becoming residents of small, large and specialized Assisted Living facilities including dementia care. Generally speaking, Assisted Living is for people that need help with the activities of daily living (ADLs). Depending on the type of care, individual needs and individual desires, Assisted Living can be a great option for your loved one. Options range from small, family Residential Care Homes to larger, full-service communities with hundreds of residents. Many of these locations specialize in Dementia Care, including Alzheimer’s.

Long Term Care (aka Skilled Nursing Facility)

In years past, many seniors were placed in Nursing Homes, now called Long Term Care and this choice may be necessary for individuals with specific medical problems. However, with the growth of Assisted Living and Residential Care Homes, other options may work well depending upon your love one’s needs.
